Trying to understand is

like straining through muddy water.

Be still and allow the mud to settle.

Lao Tzu

art: Banksy

The first patent, by Bezzera was filed for
an Espresso coffee machine.

Although the French first invented the
prototype Espresso machine in 1843,
using Steam as the power source,
it was the Italians who perfected it.

Bonjour Messiah,

It is interesting to see here again that this invention has not been made by one persons but gradually, by different persons, living in different lands.

Same thing, for nearly everything.
And there is another point: 99.99 percent of all inventions around us are coming from the West. Don't know why but so it is.

And we're waist deep in the Big Muddy, and the damn fool said to push on.

This quote really pertains to my throwing. I really need to stop trying so hard and relax into it.

(That's a great Banksy. Wow.)

I've always been fascinated by espresso machines and all the sleak caffeine machines out there. They've got a magical appeal.

Too bad I am cutting back on coffee, eh? I can't remember when I had my last.

Italians must be part Arab! lol

Your blogger friend from Kuwait (I haven't forgotten you.)

A young would-be composer wrote to Mozart, asking advice as to how to compose a symphony. Mozart responded that a symphony was a complex and demanding musical form and that it would be better to start with something simpler. The young man protested. "But Herr Mozart, you wrote symphonies when you were younger than I am now." And Mozart replied, "I never asked how."

georg: That seems to be the way in all things, all through history or at least most of it.

diva: Is that a "war" reference? Pete Seeger sang a great version of that song.

mary: Force, never solves anything, even in your art.

dc: And purveyors of great Coffee! ; )

r & r: How's it going over there?

squirrel: Why not.....

kurt: That's a good one, Thanks for sharing it.

Now is not the time to cut back on coffee! They just discovered several cups a day are good for you! I had four cups today!

Like the Lao Tzu as always. Didn't Thomas Edison employ lots of people and had them turn over all their ideas to him? & Many of them were Italians? I visited his workshop in New Jersey and this was even strongly implied by the tour guide.

I realize this has nothing to do with an espresso machine, but more that our great inventions are not due to one brain working on them--

oh, Leonardo Da Vinci springs to mind.

ched: You're right, and we're all gonna die from something. Moderation is the key to everything, wouldn't you agree?

r & r: I'm meme-d out, but will attempt this one over the weekend.

lib: Yes indeed. Surprising when we look at all this in perspective.

Given That The Italians Never Had An Empire To Speak Of, It's Strange They Fell In Love With Coffee More Than Most............
