It is interesting to see here again that this invention has not been made by one persons but gradually, by different persons, living in different lands.
Same thing, for nearly everything.
And there is another point: 99.99 percent of all inventions around us are coming from the West. Don't know why but so it is.

I've always been fascinated by espresso machines and all the sleak caffeine machines out there. They've got a magical appeal.
Too bad I am cutting back on coffee, eh? I can't remember when I had my last.

Like the Lao Tzu as always. Didn't Thomas Edison employ lots of people and had them turn over all their ideas to him? & Many of them were Italians? I visited his workshop in New Jersey and this was even strongly implied by the tour guide.
I realize this has nothing to do with an espresso machine, but more that our great inventions are not due to one brain working on them--
oh, Leonardo Da Vinci springs to mind.
