That in itself is a tremendous thing.
I wove my webs for you because I liked you.
After all, what's a life, anyway?
We're born, we live a little while, we die.
A spider's life can't help being something of a mess,
with all this trapping and eating flies.
By helping you, perhaps I was trying to lift up my life a trifle.
Heaven knows anyone's life can stand a little of that.

What lovely thoughts . . .
Charlottes Web will always be a magical book. What a treasure it is to discover books like that in the library as a kid.
I love the accompanying art work.
Charlotte's web is a treasure...another great book about friendship is Wind and the Willows
I don't like the part where Charlotte dies.
Some stories and writing will never fade. I think this is one.
Friendship, Love and Truth. Maybe we should make August the month of Love!
did you catch the article in one of the july issues of the new yorker about e.b. white and stuart little - wonderful article all about kids lit and the rise of children's dept in libraries. very interesting
charlotte's web is such a grand book with so many lessons for us. thanks for the lift!
It is a great story, I've always been amazed by spiders though.
t & t: That was my intention.
mary: It doesn't surprise me you're the only one to comment on the art.
squirrel: Yes, there are so many forgotten books.....
kurt: Why, I never knew you were so sensitive.
joanne: Lets hope not.
ched: That sounds good....although everyday, year in and out should be that way also. ; )
mouse: No, didn't see it. Will have to seek it out though. especially since out here it appears more people get videos at the library than books.
fitzgerald: Spiders are indeed amazing creatures.
what does that eyeball in the triangle mean again? it always confuses me.
squirrel: Doesn't have something to do with Big Brother?
