goodbye hello

Chippewa Song

The following song is by Tim Buckley.

Many young people know of Jeff Buckley

his son. This was the first album I heard

from TB and was hooked. This is one

of his best. I did get to see him at the

Great American Music Hall in SF,

as he was on tour for his

Greetings From LA album.

Out with the old, and in with the new.

Finally..........

For those both in and outside of the usa,
we seem to be on the cusp of someone
attempting to run the country with inclusion,
rather than exclusion and positive ways to get
things done, rather than negative.
Maybe even taking responsibility,
rather than blaming others.

Looking at the crowds for Obama brings
a certain sense of hope, that for the first
time since JFK, there are actually people
of color, interacting and smiling together
as a group, rather than separate entities,
one against another. If this translates for even
a little bit, our World, and everyones
will be a lot better for it. I'm very satisfied
to finally see such an event unfold.

I haven't thought of Tim Buckley in so many years. His voice is incredibly compelling. Thanks so much for the reminder.

Tuesday begins a new chapter in our American history. I really can't wait.

Love the collage--looks like Quilp going out to the marsh to drown.

" drown " is a strange word. to suffocate in water.

Well way up to the north of you we could sure use a new way...but just had an election and got the same shrub as we had for the last 2years. Almost had an over throw but he finagled his way into getting an almost 2 month time out...and this when all hell is breaking loose.

I am hoping that your Man Mr. President will exert his influence and show our dictator the way.

A toast to your new leader and to your country for electing him!

Can't tell you the memories Tim Buckley's song brought back. Hadn't heard it in....many years (as in...don't ask how many). Thanks for that.

Here's to the change and "handfuls of dawn", as Tim sings it.

This is exciting!

Great collage; wonderful words. I had on Fox Sunday Morning show today (first—and only—time I'll see that one); everyone was saying how the inauguration seems like an interruption until Juan Williams had a chance to speak. "Wait a minute! This is a chance to celebrate a great change!" paraphrasing, but I couldn't believe the right wing pundits can't let themselves believe in the incredible hope that the rest of us are allowing ourselves to feel.

I remember Tim Buckley's music. Some time ago, I downloaded Jeff Buckley's "Hallelujah" and wondered if he was possibly Tim's son. Great Stuff. I enjoy your blog.

Nice post, and also excited to see people coming together...had several conversations this morning around the same thing. There seems to be a buzz in crowds that has not been there in some time.

A welcome new chapter in the American history for sure! Those of us on the outside welcome this with open arms as well :-)

Love the collage! Also excited to see Mr. Obama ascend to power. Maybe things will improve!

I hope you are right about our country becoming inclusive and focused on positive change. I wish I felt that Obama will face up to Israel and bravely change America's role in fostering the conflict in the Middle East. It's probably a matter of incremental change but I'd love him to say "enough!" and mean it.

"...run the country withinclusion,

Some people will believe anything.

If'in moi ain't dead, I'll
check back in four years.

Great choice of song. Have to agree with you. The feeling that history has changed for the positive, and that I am witnessing it, has not yet left.

I like this collage a LOT. It will be very interesting to see where the idea of incorporating photos takes you.

Don't know much about Tim Buckley but I will add to my list of music to investigate. What with you and Mouse, it's getting to be quite a long list!

;)

tdg: Thanks for stopping by. You have an interesting blog.

rlb: He's been a favorite 4 years and this album is oh so political, more than his other albums.

rabbi: Thanks....I like Happy Sad (Buzzin Fly anyway).

reya: Thanks, will be in spirit like many others ; )

butternut s: You can't judge a blog by it's name ; ) Thanks for stopping by.

avid: Thanks, you're too kind.

rad: The more Peace the better ; )

t & t: Have to give you credit for attempting to watch ; ( Can't expect too much from them. Wonder if there was a time you could?

kimy: Me too and Thanks for including us in the wave ; )

dd: Thanks for your comment and 4 stopping by.

bm: That's what life should be, a positive buzz, rather than a negative one.

dc: Thanks for that, and us too for the rest of the World ; )

e: We can only hope.

sherry: I agree someone needs to step out of the box and not worry about what others think when it comes to fostering War & Killing.

th: Thanks for stopping by. Of course, everything here in the states and it's division will not change over night, look how long it has taken just to get to this point. But it's a baby step, and that's something ; )

anon: Yep, that's something anyway. we can only hope, despite the negative outcome for those in previous power, that anyone who's helped make war crimes, should be held accountable, no matter who they are, otherwise, it's all for naught. Besides, if the little guy pays, why not the ones who told them to do so?

mv: Thanks for stopping by and yes on your point!

megan: Thank You!

kurt: Thanks.....

I agree with you. I actually felt different after the inauguration and after reading your post on Obama I think I know why...as a DC resident, it was amazing to see people cry, feel such a big sense of group...even at the "We Are One" concert...

Coffee Messiah said...

em: Hello.....once you see this occur in front of you, you never forget.
Trust me, we have not seen this since Kennedy & MLK ; (

We should not have to wait for this ever.

Thanks for stopping by!
