At least one of those "blokes" looks pleased to be shooting for the stars. The others look terrified. What a great picture!! Thanks for the smile and for the wonderful van Gogh quote.
Hi! C.M., The graphics looks great...Thanks, for sharing the quote by Vincent Van Gogh. (My third favourite painter, O'Keeffe, and Rothko, place 1st and 2nd respectively,)
I was fortunate enough last year to attend the "Van Gogh - Night Paintings" exhibit at MOMA in Manhattann with my wife and kids, and it was a stunning sight indeed to gaze at "The Starry Night" in its all its resplendent glory. Van Gogh’s works and letters not only carried on the art historical tradition of twilight and night scenes but also reflected how his thoughts were influenced by abundant literary sources. The powerful technical innovation—Van Gogh’s signature—that he applied to capture the effects of dark and light made for an unforgettable experience.
sam: That's so nice to hear. Years ago in Indianapolis we saw a Remington exhibit, and when we saw the letters he wrote and drew on while in the field, well, it made me think quite differently about him as a person.
tom: John Stewart was in the Kingston Trio, back in the day, wrote Daydream Believer for the Monkees (and other songs made famous by others)and like this song from '87, was a powerful songwriter until his death.
