common sense & news worthiness

Jean Paul Sarte is sitting in a French cafe,

revisiting his draft of Being and Nothingness.

He says to the waitress, "I'd like a cup of
coffee, please, no cream."

The waitress replies,"I'm sorry, monsieur,
but we have no cream, only milk."

"Make it no milk then."

City Without Pity, or Papers

One time in the late '70s at the paper,
all sorts of complaints were coming in
that people had not received their morning paper.

The drivers would go to the customers house,
only to see that they indeed had received the paper.
On the back page though, it was blank.
So rather than say they received the paper
but that one page was blank, they said they
didn't receive it. We had to fight with the
company as the carriers were blamed for having
not delivered when they indeed had.

Silly too, cause no one had that page on any paper.

Somehow the paper passed inspection and
thousands had made their way in the bay area.

Sadly, it wasn't a news section or anything
important, nope, there was no comic section.

Reminds me of what's going on this past week or so.
No dialog on issues, stuff to incite people to
yet again fight among one another, for no real reason.
