coffee break

Edward R Murrow

Seems like forever that this picture was taken,
and the innocence that once was has never been since.

Alas, that's part of growing up and learning,
and living a life and doing the best you can.

I've had this blog for over a yr, and in the summer,
deleted the previous yrs entries.

For those that visit and leave comments,
they have been appreciated immensely.
If it weren't for some interaction here in
the sticks, it would be a very sad day.

And I know there are others who read or look
and don't leave comments and that's really
OK also. That you may find something of interest
and you return to peek means a lot to me.

Here's hoping next year gets even a
little bit better for those less fortunate than us!

Cheers and Thanks! CM

The best man is like water.
Water is good, it benefits all things
and does not compete with them.
It dwells in lowly places that all disdain.
That is why it is so near to Tao.
Lao Tzu

I've put three songs together that express
what I can't in words how I feel in general.

Who Am I - Country Joe & The Fish
Bless Us All - Mickey Newbury
O'Ecclesia - Sacred Spirit

Such a touching post, coffee. That pic of you on Santa's lap holds all the innocence in the world. The music you chose seems a bit sad and somber, or that could just be me and my own state of mind. I hadn't heard "Who Am I" in so many years. Thanks for that.

Happy holidays to you and your loved ones. I hope the return of the sun brings both warmth and peace to the land.

the best to you, now and always.
your blog is an ongoing oasis, during
these harsh times. your photo reminds me of visiting santa at "the white house"-a long-gone s.f. dept. store that you may recall. peace, coffee man.

dusty:Thanks so much and back at you and yours!

robin: When I took a closer look at both of us looking at each other, well, there wasn't any fear and all sorts of innocence. Surprising to me, looking at how I am now! My best to you and Roger also!

annie:Thanks to you too and the same for you and your family. Funny you should mention the White House. My grandfather worked there and my family still has the ads that he and my mom were in at Christmas time, way back when. Matter of fact I had an aunt working there too. It was the place to go.

raffi: It's been a pleasure meeting you through the ether and I know you'd be an interesting friend either way. Thanks and the same for you and your family!

ruby: Thank You and always my best to you and your family!
